About Us

RunWalkLondon is a running blog built around one city and one simple idea. Get out the door, cover the distance, enjoy it enough to do it again next week.

We write about marathons, races, walks and training. Most of it is London. Some of it is further out, because good races do not stop at the M25.

Why this site exists

Running advice online is either too vague or too extreme. You get generic tips that could apply to anyone, or you get plans written for people who already run 70 miles a week.

Neither helps if you are trying to work out whether your Achilles is fine, how many gels you need for a half, or which 10K in August is actually worth the entry fee.

So we write the version we wanted to read. Specific dates. Real routes. Numbers you can act on. No filler.

What you will find here

Marathons. Race guides, course notes, and what to expect on the day.

Races. 5K, 10K, half and everything in between. Dates, locations, and honest takes on whether the course suits you.

Walks. London is a walking city. We cover routes that are worth the time, from park loops to river stretches.

Training. Plans, drills, recovery, niggles, kit. The boring parts that decide your race before you get to the start line.

Events. What is coming up, when to enter, and what usually sells out.

How we write

Short sentences. Plain language. We tell you what to do and why, then get out of the way.

If a route is 7km around the perimeter, we say 7km. If a race starts at 12:30, we check the date and put it in the first paragraph. If something is a bad idea, we say that too.

We do not pad articles to hit a word count. We do not pretend every shoe is a game changer. And we do not recommend anything we would not use ourselves.

Who is behind it

RunWalkLondon is written and run by Ozan. Every article on this site is written and checked by a person who actually cares whether the advice holds up on a wet Tuesday in Hyde Park.

That means the site moves at a human pace. It also means you can email and get a reply from the person who wrote the thing you are asking about.

Who this is for

You do not need to be fast. You do not need a coach, a club, or a watch that costs more than your shoes.

If you run, walk, or are thinking about starting, this site is for you. Beginners working toward a first 5K. Runners chasing a personal best at Battersea. People who just want a decent Sunday route and a reason to leave the house.
