Last London Race for Life of 2007





The last London Cancer Research UK Race for Life was the Ealing & Hounslow event. The race was held at Gunnersbury Park.

Capital 95.8 were there to support the runners and walkers.




Batwoman, Wonderwoman and friend were there to run. Left before the race and right at the finish.




The Mayor of Ealing and Hounslow and Announcer Sarah joined in the warmup.

1500 ran and walked the 5k course.




Just after half way, fourth and happy (Left).

Many finished the race wirh friends (Right).








These three looked good in red.

Thanks to Ealing, Southall & Middlesex A.C. who marshaled the course.






Stella was in the final group to finish. The rest of her team Stellas Stars were there at the finish to cheer her in. Together they raised nearly £2000 for Cancer Research UK.

Sunny Races at Regents Park






There were two Cancer Research UK Race for Life Events at Regents Park this weekend.

It was Sunny for both the Saturday and Sunday Races.





9000 ran and walked the 5K course over the two days.




Many of the women were participating

with groups of friends in their team kit.

It is expect that over £800,000 will be raised in sponsorship from the Regents Park races.









It was Race Organiser Becky Lomax's last race of the season.

Blackheath Race for Life and Run for Moore





7000 women ran this years Blackheath Race for Life. The race was organised by Becky Lomax.

Capitol Gold's Tony Dibben was the announcer. (Pictured right)






The final finisher did the 5k course on crutches.

Two Bunny Girls finished the course.





Everyone was happy to finish. (Photo below)




The second Blackheath Run for Moore was in the afternoon.

The course was the same 5k course as the womens Race for Life.

This years field was larger than last year with 1400 running.

Wet and Windy Epsom Race for Life





3000 women ran and walked the Epsom Cancer Research UK Race for Life. It was wet and windy before and after the race. But the rain held off during the race. The Race started and finished in front of the finishing straight of Epsom racecourse.




Two of the Nivea Boys were ill and could not attend.

So one of the volunteers and Race Organise Joff Charters steped in to make up the four.






Mercury FM were the announcers on the day. Pictured here with the Race winner.




Everyone was happy to finish the hilly 5k course.




There were many volunteers at the race.

A few are pictured right, ready to hand out medals, goody bags and water at the finish.

Wedding Proposal at Enfield Race for Life





The Enfield Race for Life was held at Trent Park.

After the 4000 women had left the start Hakan waited at the finish for his girlfriend Ozlem. When she arrived he proposed (Photo right).

Sunny and Hot Hampstead Race for Life





Almost 3000 ran and walked the Cancer Research UK Hampstead Race for Life. The 5K course started and finished at the Hampstead Heath Showground. It was hot and sunny for the race. The race organiser was Becky Lomax who enjoyed returning to the Race for Life venue she had run before becoming a Race for Life Race Organiser.

Superwoman ran again with a few friends.





A team from Capital Radio were there to cheer on the runners and walkers and to help hand out medals, goody bags and water at the finish.






The Army cadets handed out

medals and goody bags

to the last two to finish.

they finished together.

5000 Run and Walk City of London





5000 ran and walked this years City of London Race for Life.

This years race organiser was Lizzie Cummings picture right in front of the warmup.





It was a hot and sunny day,

but it did not deter this Gorilla from running.






These fours escaped for the day so they could run.

Sarah Greene spoke to the participants before the warmup.

Sarah is pictured below on the Start Line with all the other celebrities.







At 4K the runners turned to

return back along London Wall.




The best views of the race were

from the bridges above London Wall.

City of London Race for Life

The City of London Cancer Research UK Race for Life is on Sunday 03 June. The Race starts in view of St. Pauls Cathedral. The COURSE follows roads around the city and finishes in front of Smithfield Market. 5000 have entered so far. This is the last week for entries.

New Richmond Course Sucessfull





The Richmond Race for Life was held in Old Deer Park Richmond. There were three races over Saturday and Sunday. The new 1 lap course met approval with both the runners and the walkers. A total of 6000 ran and walked Richmond. The race was organised by Becky Lomax. Becky's Event Support Assistant was Mary Noel picure right with the Nivea Boys who did the warm ups on Sunday.





There were some fast times from the runners. But the day was not about times. Everyone was running or walking to raise money for Cancer Research UK.






Hawaiian Girls ran round Sunny Richmond.






These two were happy to fly round the course.




A brave lady completed the course.




Superwoman yet again flew in to run in a London Race for Life. We can expect her to run again in most of the London Races.

Scooby Do also ran at Richmond.

Wet Croydon Race for Life





2800 turned up for a wet Croydon Race for Life.

The race was held at Lloyd Park. The race organiser was Joff Charters.





Joff was backed up by volunteers

and Cancer Research UK Events team staff.





Not to be shown up by Batwoman at Bromley,

Superwoman flew in to Croydon.




A team of Army Cadets run

and finished the race together.




It was an impressive sight watching

the 2800 runners and walkers heading

away from the start towards the first corner.





Local Firemen helped the volunteers at the finish

by handing out medals.

The course was setup by Striders of Croydon.

Over 1000 in Bromley Race for Life





The Bromley race was held at Crystal Palace. The race started and finished on the Athletics track.


The race organiser was Natasha Etienne pictured right joining in the warm up.






A Gorilla, Batwoman
and friends ran the race.

First Race for Life of 2007 at Battersea



Cancer Research UK Scientist were at Battersea to support the Race. They marshaling the 5k course and helped at the finish. They were easily identified by their yellow t-shirts and caps.



Gloria Hunniford and Paula Radcliffe addressed the 5000 before the Race.




This years race organiser was Becky Lomax.



Julia Gristwood continued her record of running every Battersea Race for Life, making this her 14th.





The Nivea Boys were at the event for the warm up and to cheer the runners and walkers as they passes the bandstand just after the start.
